The abstracts selected for the 17th TRAC annual conference comprises different research areas of tuberculosis diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control including MDR-TB, TB/HIV and other co-infections. In addition, innovations in tuberculosis diagnosis, tuberculosis in different settings and other cross cutting issues were also investigated. The focus of this year’s TRAC, as in previous years, is on disseminating research findings relevant for improving the performance of the national TB program that will help to eliminate TB. The abstracts are therefore prioritized and selected based on their policy relevance as the main criteria but scientific rigor was also given due consideration.
The Abstract Review Committee wishes to take this opportunity to thank all contributors for their demonstrated commitment to share their findings towards enhancing TB control efforts in Ethiopia. We believe much more can be done in the areas of innovative drug and diagnostic research on tuberculosis, improved research initiatives in terms of quality and coverage as well in strengthening timely dissemination of study results.
It is our firm believes that TRAC will remain committed to do these in the same manner as it has shown over the last 17 years in bringing TB research communities to common platform.
